Drool factor!

So, as I was cleaning my inventory waiting to get news from my shoes, I decided to go check what was happening in the RL fashion world. After all, a girl needs to get her inspiration from somewhere. So, as I was looking, I saw THE dress that made me drool as much as when I went to Saks Fifth Avenue's 8th floor (it's the shoe level for anyone who was wondering. I just went WOW! I know, I know, this blog is mainly about SL and my randomness, but as I'm just cleaning my inventory (which might take me the rest of my life) and that the stuff I'm wearing is just according to what I tried on (without the intention of going out in public), I just decided to show you THE dress! Would be lovely to find it on SL... wonder how much someone would sell the SL version... but do I really wanna know? NO

5th video on YouTube for me!

Yup, my vid is finally uploaded (had to change the format this morning when I realized that the format I used yesterday was to complicated for YouTube who was never able to process it... *kicks YouTube*).

So, here it is, my video showing that i live in an haunted SL.

SHOES!

Today, I got 27 pair of shoes (or maybe a bit more)! For a grand total of 0L$!!! *claps for herself as people look at her as thought she's mental* hum... right... anyway, nothing much happened to day i guess... except problems with the house points thingy and the master of script will take care of that situation TOMORROW! (Can't believe I'm making announcements... I must be really bored...)

Now, someone asked yesterday at the town hall meeting (which should be called Great Hall meeting) if an inventory with 50,000 items could influence the lag of a sim. Well, the question was answered but I'll answer it myself, for anyone who was wandering and wasn't at the GH meeting. No, it won't influence the lag... otherwise, I would have killed many sims by now (once had a inventory of 105,000 items...) and my ARC is probably always red (it's at 9773 right now). So, yeah, the inventory doesn't influence the lag, but the ARC does... *might make some sims crash with her ARC... COOL! [kidding])

Anyway, so here is a vid... about shoes (MINE!)

Lack of inspiration means... RANDOM TIME! (ok, it's always random time.. but whatever)

So... boredom is attacking people lately... leading them to play chess and backgammon (i don't even know how to play that ¬_¬). Yup, Saturday evening, while probably most of the students that aren't sim officials (they are very busy with organizing the RP) were bored to death. I was so bored I ended up using the [LAP] pose called "Splat" to just lay there, waiting for death to come and take me away from this boredom. Then, Storm arrived and she was also bored so we talked (ICly that is) and then Claik/Chris/evil monkey/ferret boy/master of scripts (can't believe I just said something that sounds like a compliment...) arrived. We were three that were bored... and then, Claik said that we should have a chessboard in the Raven common and then we just ended up playing chess next to the pitch. Of course, I lost 'cause I suck at chess. After that, it was time for me to go sleep and they played backgammon.

Earlier the same day, Jody tried to set up Chris (Claik) and Charlotte (me). She ended up snogging poop! (anyone who wants the pic, contact me :P *hides from Jody*) and Jadz told me yesterday that Chris would be the perfect fit for my character... What do they smoke for heaven's sake?! Quit the pot and alcohol! Seriously... it would be beyond my capacity... and it would be like snogging poop for Claik XD.

Yesterday, I cleaned up my inventory while reading my philosophy textbook before going to a concert in RL. So, basically, nothing major happened yesterday.

Oh, and one last thing: HAPPY LABOR DAY! Go shopping, many stores offer sales and hunts for the occasion... even got myself a pair of shoes... *should have a character named Carrie Bradshaw* Also, Daniel Radcliffe is in the September Vogue (the american one... with Anna Wintour), so buy it if you are a fan of Radcliffe (mainly talk about his role in Equus though).

Here is a lil vid... alright, it's just a pic with a song... but I love it!

Does criticizing on your blog considered being a poop-head?

So, yesterday evening, as I was bumping into loads of people that aren't fans of me because of what I wrote about them on my blog or because I said "no" (only Jody and Jadz might understand what I mean by that), Justify sent a notice that anyone who is disrespectful toward a sim official will have to face severe consequences (or somethin' like that). Of course, I would never say to the face of a sim official "You suck you moron" (I would not even write that on my blog). But, if I criticize them on MY blog, will I have to face consequences to? Of course, by giving my opinion, I mean politely, as I learned the hard way that writing when it's 1am and that you are tired and angry is perhaps not the greatest idea in the history of mankind.

Well, I decided, to not put myself in shitty situation like I am so capable of doing, I will only state my opinion regarding the officials if their is an abuse of power, if they act like morons toward the RPing majority or if they basically do not respect human rights or the freedom of speech (still, don't say to their face that you personally HATE them (which is not my case, it's just AN EXEMPLE) and that they should be thrown off the astronomy tower, 'cause even I would try to put you in deep shit). Otherwise, I will just keep talking about random stuff, like a ferret jumping on the face of a girl who is running after it or a girl trying to steal a Slytherin bed or my inventory cleaning (which will take me a 3 months since RL school is now back to bug me).

So, yeah, that's all I had to say for now and, just for the fun of sounding serious for once, here is the link of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and something my history professor told the class: "Your friend today could be your enemy tomorrow and your enemy today could be your friend tomorrow". It made me smirk...

Jadz wrote a comment! Let's celebrate!

I'm a very happy girl right now 'cause Jadz finally wrote a comment... even if she threatened to send tons of mice in Charlotte's bed if Jody and I squashed a ferret's head... Which brings me to ask: Can I strangle the ferret if his human form makes me bald during an assembly? After all, making a girl bald is the worse thing someone can do XD. Ok, I won't touch the ferret... but perhaps running after him with my jar just to scare him a bit. He probably won't even be scared and will just jump on my face... and I should learn to not give him ideas...

Anyway, just going to use a Jack Sparrow quote (with a slight modification): "A comment? I love comments! Drinks all around!" *gets out her firewhiskey and passes out after one small shooter*

And here is a video called "The Golden Trio through fanart" done by yours truly (yup, it's the 2nd vid I made for YouTube). Hope you'll like it (or I'll find you and hit you with my jar (jk)).

I <3 my click counter and RL sucks

Ok, so got the confirmation that many read my blog (the click counter I installed at the bottom of the page does help) and I will say hi to all the ones that bothered to take the time to write a comment or send me an IM. So here it goes.

HEY JODY! probably the girl that manage to write many comments that are very long, but always interesting to read. And don't worry, I'm not planning to kill Charlotte... she lives way too much in her fairytale for suicide and if anyone tries to kill, she knows very well the maniac girl that lives in the Forbidden Forest.

Hey evil monkey! Still can't believe you tried to teach me how to organize my inventory... which I won't do... since it would take way too much time... just cleaning my inventory will take a month. Anyway, you're a cool dude (and also a good scripter) even if I mainly bug you or threaten to squash a ferret when I speak to you (btw, read Jody's comment on the previous post, you aren't lucky anymore).

JADZ! even if i didn't got any comments or IMs confirming you were reading (since you mainly read my blog on Sundays), I know you do read it 'cause you told me you did. Can't wait to see your H:NB character "in action" (is locking yourself in a closet with a ferret considered an action or madness? [jk])

Now, Justy, who sent me an IM telling me he was the mysterious comment writer. My response was "oh, ok :)" which is basically a lame response. So, here is my 2nd try: "Great! I really loved that comment and Jody was sure it was you or LeC. I actually had doubts but she was actually right! XD Anyway, glad you read my blog!"

Finally, Riko, the Brit who can write japanese stuff and my neighbor in Godric's Hollow. I really appreciate that you read my blog and took the time to post a comment. I don't know you that much, but you seem like a great girl.

Now, the sad part. NO, I'm not closing this blog! What I'm gonna talk about is the end of my summer vacation 2008, meaning I'm heading back to school Monday (and picking up my schedule today). Being a social science student (history and politics), I'll have many researches to do. In fact, I have 3 classes that will give me researches for sure. Anyway, all that to say that I'll spend less time in SL, but I'll still try to spend some time on... for my freebies! Kidding, I'll mainly RP my fantastic character over at H:NB (and also to get my freebies...). So don't worry, I'm not gone forever and this blog will still be about the many Hogwarts within SL (I'll need to change the title of my blog again... ugh...).

So, yeah, that's all for now and I hope H:NB will be officially open tommorow... would love to RP a little before Monday...

Oh, and here are two videos, both related to musicals on Broadway. Yes, I went to New York City last week (and covered my head every time a pigeon was flying over me) and saw two musicals: The Little Mermaid (yeah, I'm a Disney fan) and South Pacific. Oh, and if you go to NYC soon, Daniel Radcliffe (yes yes, Harry Potter himself) is gonna play in Equus on Broadway. I think it starts in September... Anyway, so the first video is with a song for The Little Mermaid and the other is from the Tony Awards 2008 with a medley of three songs from South Pacific (and we see Dan clapping at the end of the vid)

Nothing happening and where is my twin?!

Vacation time usually means that nothing will happen at Hogwarts. Tomorrow is the street fair and Danton sent a notice to say that the plot with the Last Ravenclaw would be over by Monday, to make place for a new plot.

Now, the important stuff, at least for me. Where is Jadz?! Yesterday, I wasn't much on SL as RL shopping was calling me, but I was on all the time (except when it was lunch time and diner) today. She wasn't on when I was there yesterday, and she never appeared online today. I miss my evil twin of doom, because she always finds something to do when nothing is going on or I can at least bug her and she then calls me a pill and I'm like "hehe, I know I'm a pill". I hope the Whomping Willow didn't eat her! *kicks the Whomping Willow* *is thrown away by the Willow* Anyway, Jadz, if you are reading this, please tell me you are still alive! I need you for my "brilliant" project. ¬_¬ OK, now I sound lame... oh well, who cares. Oh yeah, and the vid is just random, 'cause I'm feeling like putting on a Katy Perry song.

Hogwarts was nearly destroyed!

Here is what Jadz told me (well, part of it): "Vezy took off with lots of pieces of the castle and Hogsmeade. We have been rebuilding." Thankfully, nothing was taken from any common rooms. But the real question is: why did he did that? Did the rulers of this sim made him angry? Was he just PMSing? Is he just mental? Did someone from the sim pissed him off? Did a group of people pissed him off? Did he saw a group of flying coconut that inspired him to destroy everything he had made for Hogwarts... never mind the last one. With Jody, everybody knows why she quit (ok, she didn't fully quit, as I got an IM from her this morning, but I'll talk about it later). But what about Vezy? First, I barely knew the guy. I think he was mainly THE builder, but not a professor or a student. The GMs and the main people of WoH knew him, of course. Therefore, I am thinking it is someone from that group that made him fly away with a tower and a part of Hogsmeade. But I'm just guessing as the other comment I got from Jadz when I asked her "why?" was "I don't know".

Now, whit the subject regarding the IM Jody sent me, which is totally not related to WoH. She told me about a group called "(we hate!!!) Support Group" founded by Cape. I read the group profile and it said the group was for the ones that couldn't stand "She-who-must-not-be-named". Jody thought she was the one given that nickname and by looking at the list of the members, I'm sorry to say that she's probably right. Nothing is confirmed yet, but I'll ask Cape if what I think actually is the truth. I would first like to state that I don't agree at all with that group. They have the right to be annoyed by Jody, I once was also annoyed by her, but been there, done that. Also, if she got on some people's nerves, it's perhaps because she was under loads of pressure after Toby left the sim, saying it had nothing to do with Jody, but still putting all the spotlights on her. Unfortunately, no one ever thought about that possibility. When someone is under alot of stress, it's behavior may change alot as everyone reacts to stress differently. I suppose that her reaction toward stress was to be more annoyed and to complain a bit more. She probably needed to be in control of something and interfered more than usual, even in stuff that other considered to  be none of her business. Anyway, all that to say that I think that founding a group for peoples who are against ONE people and who wants to complain about her in her back is simply pathetic and childish. Also, they won't have to complain alot since she left the sim. As soon as I'll know who is "She-who-must-not-be-named" for sure, I'll post it. (Update: She-who-must-not-be-named is NOT Jody. I unfortunately can't reveal who she is, but I still think that perhaps if the members of that group spoke to she-who-must-not-be-named, it would be better and more mature)

Prim babies...

Finally a controversial subject! Ok, perhaps not, but I know some people will disagree with me. So, yesterday evening, the Late Show (from Metaverse TV, hosted by... I don't remember) was hosted at Hogwarts. So, the first to be interviewed was Danton, and his interview was really interesting. In fact, I was lagging horribly but I could still hear Danton speaking, I just couldn't speak to anyone, so I decided that I wouldn't force SL to close until the end of that interview. That is why you learn to love commercial breaks. After, their was that women from a Star Trek roleplaying sim or something (I missed the beginning because I was relogging) and Justify was joking around... as always. It's the third and final interview that was truly interesting.

Two women, both pregnant, one of a few weeks, the other of six months. The one of a few weeks had a medical check up sometime ago. What is so special about that interview? Their pregnancy is not real! It's a VIRTUAL pregnancy! The medical check-up was also fake! ALL VIRTUAL! The one that was just a few weeks "pregnant" explained that she couldn't afford having a baby in her life, as babies are too expensive. One thing to say: instead of spending a fortune on clothes, on skins, on hairs and on AOs, perhaps you could spend that money to have a REAL baby and experience a REAL pregnancy. All you get from a virtual pregnancy is a fat avatar for nine months. You don't FEEL your baby growing inside of you. You don't feel the pain when you give birth... ok, that may be a plus, but still! You don't get to hold that cute little bundle of joy after virtually giving birth. Then, it was time for the 6 month pregnant lady to speak. Guess what? She happens to be the doctor and the dude that animated the show even mentioned that she had medical experience in RL. Anyway, she was saying that women that come to her clinic (yes, their is a virtual pregnancy clinic...) are women that in RL can't afford to have a baby or that simply can't have a baby for biologic reasons. As I said, all you get is a fat avatar for nine months. Imagine if everyone decided to have a virtual pregnancy? Second Life would be dead because everyone on Earth will have given birth to a prim baby instead of a real one. Soon in a cinema near you: The Invasion of the Prim Babies. Anyway, I just think that spending between 4000L$ and 12000L$ is too much, even if in RL money it's not too much. That little bit of money you spend to have a fake baby could be kept for later to have a real baby.

Which brings me to ask myself: is this going a bit too far in the possibilities a virtual world can offer? I think so, as everyone should remember that virtual is and will always be virtual. Everybody should remember that, even if Second Life offers great possibilities (like becoming a witch or walking in high heels for a week), it won't give you a roof on your head, food to eat or a computer to go and explore SL. Yes, some actually started businesses in SL that actually brings them loads of money and they can live with only that money, but these are EXCEPTIONS. Anyone who reads that, please consider that and if you have anything to say, you know where to click (on the "Comments" button).

P.S.: on a more humoristic note, if you really want to throw 4000L$ out the window, give it to someone who really needs it or is constantly broke... *becoming serious again* but I encourage to give it to a NICE noob that didn't ask for anything so that said noob can get a nice skin, nice hair and nice clothes.
