Gangs of SL

So, at 1am I came to realize something (it's always around that time that I "realize" stuff... go figure...). In SL there are groups. No no, I'm not talking about the groups you can join if you want freebies or to RP. I'm talking about groups for which there isn't a title above your head.

I came to realize that as i was thinking about an discussion the evil monkey and I had. It was about which, between SLX and OnRez, is the best SL online shopping website. I was saying OnRez, he was saying SLX. My choice was regarding my love of freebies and the fact that OnRez has the freebie button. Claik chose SLX as a seller. Two reasons, two points of view. Both related to what we are: a freebie hunter and a seller.

You can be part of many "groups". You can fit both in the seller and the freebie addict category. You can be a blogger, a freebie addict and shopping addict/spenders (that's me). Creators are usually also in the group of sellers. In creators, I include scripters, designers, builders, as they all create something. But even if you are part of many "groups", there is always one that will represent you more. Me, it's usually the freebie hunter... with a touch of blogger. Depends of the situation. If it's not about shopping, then my blogger side will kick in and I'll just be wondering if it's worthy to show up on my blog.

Now, can we be friends with people that are parts of "groups" that we aren't part of? Yup, it is. In fact, two of my closest friends are talented creators and I get along with them... alright, with one perfectly, with the other we just bug each other (and he tries to traumatize me). But still, they... she doesn't treat me like someone inferior. He doesn't either, but he loves rubbing in my face that he can script. My other closest friend is in the spender category. But of course, like any other girl, she loves sales and hunts with good stuff. In fact, if I'm doing a great hunt that is worth it, I'll tell her about it. So, she also sets a foot in the freebie lover category. But, sometimes, the gaps are too big, especially between spenders and freebie hunters. I once had a friend who basically had a vague idea that you could look stylish without spending a fortune and who kinda showed she had a good amount of L$. Now, to a freebie hunter, it can be annoying if the other shows off a bit too much what she has. But I call that the exception, as most people won't tell there friends are rich they are or how much they spent on something.

Now, I'm not saying that everyone should classify themselves and others into categories. But notice how a point of view may sometime depend on what you are in SL.

Here is a lil vid to end this post (yes, I have a thing for Disney lately)

I think you missed a category, the guy freebie hunter. It's a hard life out there fur us guys who want freebies. As second life gets filled up with about 20 times more female freebies than guys. And when a guy freebie does come out it usually sucks because people can't make stuff for guys, especially hair. So I kinda drifted into the spender catagory as I can't get that many good freebies. My hogwart av cost me 1k I think, half of which went to my shoes, which are awesome and it was worth it. Ok, I think I will stop now or else I will have a mini blog inside Cath's blog XD

Claik, I didn't mentioned all the categories. Just stated examples. And with all the comments you post (may they be relevant or not), I think you already kinda have a mini-blog inside my blog.

PS: My Hogwarts av cost me... *thinks for two seconds* nothing! XD

Hence why its a hard life for the guys out there, hard to find freebies and hard to find decent items that we can buy that don't cost 500L for a shirt <_<

500 L$ for a shirt?! Where in all heavens do you shop? I saw guy stuff out there that were less expensive! Time for you to read blogs... fashion blogs... for guys... (not for girls, even if you love sewing skirts :P)

I'm serious, the shops for guys have their stuff so overpriced because no one really makes it. sad face

My new mission will be to find blogs talking about not overpriced stuff for guys and to find shop for guys with stuff at decent price... OH! This could be subject for my blog!
